Getting Started

Welcome to KScope! This guide walks you through the essential first steps to set up and begin using our contextual security posture management platform.


Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure the following:

  • KScope has been deployed for your organization, either in your AWS account or via a managed AWS account by KScope.

  • You have received a welcome email containing:

    • Your unique KScope tenant domain: https://<tenant-id>.k6scope.com

    • Temporary admin credentials (username and password)


1. First Login and Admin Setup

  1. Navigate to your provided KScope domain.

  2. Log in using the temporary admin credentials.

  3. Update your password when prompted.

  4. You are now logged in as the Customer Admin.

📝 Note: The initial admin account is provisioned based on the email provided during the sales process.


2. Team Onboarding

Invite team members:

  • Go to App Hub → Team

  • Click Invite User

  • Enter their email addresses and assign appropriate roles

3. Identity Provider Integration (Optional)

To enable SSO:

  • Navigate to App Hub → Settings

  • Select Identity Provider

  • Follow instructions to configure:

    • Google SSO

    • Microsoft Azure AD SSO (Recommended for enterprises)


4. Ticketing System Integration (Optional)

Integrate with JIRA:

  • Navigate to App Hub → Settings → Ticketing

  • Enter your JIRA connection details

  • Map KScope insights to JIRA tickets

5. Notifications and Alerts

Configure alerts for real-time insights:

  • Go to App Hub → Settings → Alerts

  • Add:

    • Slack Webhook for Slack notifications

    • Email addresses for email alerts


6. Connecting Blueprints

To begin contextual analysis:

  1. Navigate to App Hub → Blueprints

  2. Select and configure the desired blueprint

  3. Click Crawl to initiate the data scan

7. Application Settings (ASPM/CSPM Specific)

Each application includes custom settings:

  • Navigate to the respective Application Page

  • Review or update:

    • SLA thresholds

    • Severity filters

    • Data retention policies

🧠 Smart defaults are pre-configured, but review is recommended.


What's Next?

  • Begin receiving insights via configured channels

  • Use the platform dashboard to triage and act on prioritized risks

  • Review detailed insight history per asset and application
